Badger Bimmers Chapter members met on Saturday, February 18 at Ron’s Toy Barn, in Saukville, WI on a sunny and strangely warm day to enjoy some interesting cars, chili and a movie.  We enjoyed only 4 different chilies this year; one even had bear meat in it.    Socializing, beverage partaking and bench racing were the order of the day. After noshing we settled down to some serious movie viewing.  With the benefit of the equipment provided by Jeff Fait, we watched the 1971 cult classic, Vanishing Point.  The tale was of the last American hero, Kowalski, who set out to prove he could drive from Denver to San Francisco in just 15 hours.  We got to watch one spectacular car chase!  Bill Nicoud even dusted off his model of Kowalski’s ’70 Dodge Challenger R/T and brought it to share with us. Darcy helped to rustle up the fixin’s to make the day a great break for the unusually warm winter day.

On February 11, 2017, 37 Badger Bimmers and friends loaded a luxury bus that took us to the Chicago Auto Show.  Participants got on the bus at the Brown Deer Road Park and Ride, College Ave. Park and Ride, and the Petro Stopping Center in Sturtevant where we also stopped for breakfast.

We arrived at McCormick Place shortly after 10 am, took a group photo and proceeded into the show.  Our first stop was the BMW display which had 6 electric cars for viewing and that’s it.  Have to admit there was a little disappointment that there wasn’t s single conventional BMW model on display, let alone any M models.

The rest of the show was truly massive with huge displays from almost every manufacturer that sells cars in the United States.
