What a weekend it was! Weather was very windy on Friday but all 80 or so had lots of track time. Overall, we had 192 register this year. The Drivers School had 164 registered including 48 instructors. A BIG thanks to the brave instructors for helping our students learn their cars better and reach their goals! Thanks also to our classroom instructors Brian Spiewak and Nick Roush and exercise instructor Chris Fredette. Thanks to Dave and Kris Tatem and all the other volunteers that helped make this year’s event so successful.
The Saturday Dinner at Osthoff had over 70 in attendance. We had a nice handpicked selection of 4 wines and a holder donated by John Dohmen that went to Bill Nicoud. PhotosbyEdmund donated 3 20” x 30” prints. The lucky winners were David Burman, Donna Daufenbach and Scott Dodge. The big prize of a 2019 Driving School entry went to Bryan Chamberlin.
On Sunday we were visited by a group of students and their Instructors from Theodor-Litt-Schule College in Giessen, Germany. They were here as part of an exchange program in association with Milwaukee Area Technical College in Mequon, WI and headed by one of our participants, Jay Grossert. Darcy and Erik Ivarson drove their vans around the track which they reported was a great time and very memorable part of their 10 day stay in the USA.
We thank WeatherTech for their continued sponsorship of our event and hope you enjoy the custom US made cooler. Call or go online to WeatherTECH and thank them for their continued support and get some floor mats – Winter is coming!
Another thanks goes to PhotosbyEdmund! Edmund Lacis continues to photograph for the club event. If you couldn’t make it to the trailer, your Friday or Saturday session photos are available at: https://www.photosbyedmund.com/BMW/2018
HUGE thanks to Chris Schuh and CS Motorsports. Your professional Tech and track mechanical services are well appreciated!
The school continues to evolve and the Advanced/Instructor session change was well received. If you didn’t get in this year, be sure to sign up EARLY next year. Next year’s dates will be October 4th for our Advanced/Instructor day and October 5-6, 2019 for the Driving School dates.
