If you weren’t there, you missed another fine event with the Badger Bimmers at Road America, August 4-5, 2018.
Thursday, 8/2 Darcy, John Morgan and Brian Bill set up the grounds with our pathway into the corral.
Friday 8/3 was a fun day to just hang around with no formal activities but several BMWs made their way into the corral.
Saturday marked the start of our 11th Annual IMSA Car Corral. Thank you to Dave and Chris Tatem for holding down the registration table. We had 102 people and 54 cars show up for a jam packed day of activities. We had paddock tours with BimmerWorld,
Turner Motorsports
No. 24 of John Edwards and Jesse Krohn had a long pitstop to make repairs and finished in 8th place in GTLM and the BMW Team RLL M8 GTLM No. 25
of Alexander Sims and Connor De Phillippi and the leading the race laps 42 – 64 until it ran out of fuel right across from us up the hill into the pit lane with 2 lap to go finishing 6th.
We watched in disbelief as the car rolled back down into a safe location behind the barrier across from the corral.
There were lots of hot laps provided both Saturday and Sunday for our participants around Road America with Andy Van Cleef chasing Mike Renner in the BMW Driving School BMW M5’s during IMSA’s Hot Lap program.
A BIG SHOUT OUT TO BMW of Milwaukee North for sponsoring our beverages for the weekend and lunches were sponsored by Enterprise BMW of Appleton, International Auto in Milwaukee, Windy City Chapter of BMW CCA and Zimbrick BMW of Madison. Thanks to ALL of our sponsors for again making this the best car corral yet!
Hope to see YOU next year! Same weekend, August 3-4 2019. Mark your calendar!
