PLEASE CONTACT Robert and Linda Hall at robert.hall.ieee@gmail.com if you have any questions and
to give them an idea of how many cars and people to expect.
Isn’t life grand? Except for getting the car stuck in the driveway on the first snowfall (talk to me sometime about big rocks and a demolished snow blower; what sheer pin?) it’s been a perfect winter… but enough of that; it’s time to get out the calendar, fire up your favorite toy to make sure the mouse fur balls didn’t render it useless, and make plans to join us in the 2017 version of… wait for it… (drum roll please… now silly… now!)….
Bliss-On- Exciting-Less- traveled- Southwestern-Wisconsin- Roads… ok so we’ll sashay over to Iowa for a spell, but you get the idea.
So many reasons to not participate because of the dang “TO DO” list, but let’s face it… who wants to spend a beautiful day removing deer droppings and other deposited “items” from the lawn, when there are fun people to enjoy, new places to see, and time to spend alone with your favorite navigator and trusty steed?
The tourmeister is still making his list and checking it twic….. er… a bunch of times to make sure it’s just right. As of now we will meet in a yet to be named place in Mineral Point (guaranteed to have an excellent bakery to get us fired up with sugar), and we will cavort along the lovely Cty A through Lancaster and on to Cassville. Then north (kinda sorta) to Prairie Du Chien (let’s see… “i” before “e” ‘cept after “c”… hmmm, still doesn’t look right; but definitely looks worse the other way around), probably a lunch stop at some delightful hidden café, then across into Iowa and south (sorta) to Guttenberg for a chance to stretch, and enjoy the amazing… er… nope, you’ll have to look it up for yourself; this is after all an exercise in fun participation. Finally a dogleg to Dubuque for dinner at a good old fashioned supper club before hitting the sack, at your expense, at one of several spots which will be recommended shortly. Please make your own reservations! And (yeah… I know; well-constructed sentences don’t start with “and”, but it’s so much fun demolishing Mrs. Foster-Davis’ … my fifth grade teacher… impeccable English), Sunday is yours to do with, as you see fit. Did I get all those apostrophes in the right places?
Well… are you going to give them the dang date?? Oh, yeah… get your calendars and on the page headed up April 29 (not sure what it looks like in your calendar but you get the idea) write in big bold letters, Let’s go drive the damned car! How about it kids? We’re getting older… at least I am, and it’s time to blow out some cobwebs; and the thought of giggling like a schoolgir… er… schoolperson with some of my favorite people is truly enticing.
Robert and Linda Hall whose first Badger Bimmers’ event was last year’s briefly damp but delightful Spring Tour, have offered to head up the logistics so if you would be so kind, pretty please, before your busy schedule intrudes, get a hold of them at robert.hall.ieee@gmail.com to give them an idea of how many cars and people to expect. Our appreciation to them for easing into the deep end, and accolades as always to David and Tiffany who design the route and scout out the neat little stops for enjoyable delicacies, weeing and other necessities, to ensure a perfect experience.
Badger Bimmers’ driving events are as close to automotive bliss as I’m likely to get, and this low-key spring event, is one of the finest. More info to follow… really soon. Be good.
