On October 6th, a group of Badger Bimmer members embarked on a tour of Door County, Wisconsin on the Door County Rally, starting in Appleton and heading north to Sturgeon Bay. This is the 3rd year the Door County Rally has happened under the leadership of club member Justin De Maa, but the first year the club has sponsored the event. With 15 cars, we proceeded from the northern meeting point at George K. Pinney County Park on the western side of the county across to the eastern shore of the county, along the tight and winding Glidden Drive, through the trees and up to Cave Point County Park where we stopped for lunch. After lunch and exploring the park a bit, the tour continued up to the northern point of the peninsula and along the famous stretch of road to the Washington Island Ferry port. The trees were just starting to change color, so the drive was very picturesque on the overcast day.
The tour continued south to Ephraim, where the group made a stop at Wilson’s Ice Cream Parlor for a treat. Once back on the road, we headed to the final destination at Door County Peninsula Winery. Overall, everyone had a great time and people said they are looking forward to another event next year.
