Saturday, February 9th was our 5th Annual Chili and a Movie event held at Ron Pace’s toy barn in Saukville. It was a great day to spend a sunny but chilly (see what I did there?) afternoon with some Badger Bimmer members and 6 steaming pots of the best chili you’ve ever tasted! Also got to take a look at and try on for size Ron’s brand-new Porsche Cup race car and several other automotive delights. At a little after noon, ballots were cast for the favorite chili and while the voting was close ultimately Jill Recely prevailed and her delicious chili went home the winner. After that we all settled in and watched George Lucas’ 1973 classic movie “American Graffiti” and were amazed by the number of future movie stars making their debuts in that film.

When I purchased my 2010 M3 by European delivery in 2009, I never expected to be as involved in driving high performance events (HPDE) as I am today. The combination of socializing with other drivers, learning fundamental aspects or car control, learning safety driving techniques, and being able to safely drive fast while abiding with the local laws are all factors that appeal to me and to many of us!
