2019 16th Annual BMW Car Show

By Jeff Fait
Saturday, June 29th, 2019

On June 29, 2019, International BMW in West Allis, WI hosted the 16th Annual Badger Bimmers BMW Car Show.  The weather was fantastic and over 50 BMWs attended. 33 BMWs entered the hotly contested trophy competition.

Cars were entered in five classes organized by vehicle vintage, along with a separate “People’s Choice” award for favorite car overall.  Class winners were selected by participant and spectator ballot, so cars were awarded prizes based on their appeal and not based on how clean or original they are.  I didn’t see anyone with Q-Tips although I think there were a few cars on display that were well-acquainted with that kind of treatment. But that was balanced out by my car which had it’s annual washing back at the May car cleanup event.

Special thanks to International BMW for sponsoring a large supply of tasty goodies for all participants along with also sponsoring the elegant trophies and providing the show venue.

The awards presented were as follows:

People’s Choice:                                        Todd Ciske, 1972 2002

BMWs of the 1970’s and Earlier:          Todd Ciske, 1972 2002

BMWs of the 1980’s:                               Adam Bensaid, 1988 325es

BMWs of the 1990’s:                               Carlos Caseros, 1995 M3

BMWs of the 2000’s                               Dave Yahn, 2000 M Roadster

BMWs of the 2010’s & Newer:             George Pergande, 2015 M4

May 2019 Go Kart Outing

By Jeff Fait
Saturday, May 11th, 2019

16 Brave souls put on a helmet and tested their mettle – only inches above the concrete at Veloce Indoor Speedway in Pewaukeee.  Lap times got better and better until only a few tenths separated the group. Lunch afterwards at Point Burger Bar was fantastic as well! Let’s do this again!

2019 Chili and a Movie

By Jeff Fait
Monday, February 11th, 2019

Saturday, February 9th was our 5th Annual Chili and a Movie event held at Ron Pace’s toy barn in Saukville.  It was a great day to spend a sunny but chilly (see what I did there?) afternoon with some Badger Bimmer members and 6 steaming pots of the best chili you’ve ever tasted!  Also got to take a look at and try on for size Ron’s brand-new Porsche Cup race car and several other automotive delights.  At a little after noon, ballots were cast for the favorite chili and while the voting was close ultimately Jill Recely prevailed and her delicious chili went home the winner. After that we all settled in and watched George Lucas’ 1973 classic movie “American Graffiti” and were amazed by the number of future movie stars making their debuts in that film.

OktoberFAST Vehicle Inspections

By Jeff Fait
Saturday, September 15th, 2018

Pat Kummrow and the staff at Kummrow Automotive in Glendale provided FREE technical inspections on Saturday, September 15 to make sure our cars were ready for OktoberFAST at Road America!

Many club members took advantage of this great offer – I did and was glad since Pat’s team discovered that my brake pads, which I had imagined were in A-OK shape, had actually worn to the point of being paper thin!  Because of their inspection I found out in plenty of time to order and install new brake pads and ensure my car was in tip-top shape for OktoberFAST.

2018 BMW Night at Brew City Cruise Night

By Jeff Fait
Tuesday, August 14th, 2018

Tuesday, August 14th, was the seventh annual Badger Bimmers BMW & MINI Night at Brew City Cruise Night in Mequon, WI.  This event has become a must-do gathering in the summer!

Brew City Cruise Night is a weekly gathering of car enthusiasts from around southeast Wisconsin.  They host 22 Tuesday night car shows (from May through September) at nines American Bistro in Mequon, with each week being dedicated to a feature marque, club, or theme.

For the August 14th Badger Bimmers night, BMWs and their owners came from far and wide to show off their cars and socialize with other enthusiasts.  Before the night ended, nearly 90 BMWs and MINIs put in an appearance, along with a plethora of other cars that came to share the BMW love and enjoy the fantastic Wisconsin summer weather.  Club members from all over southeast and central Wisconsin, along with a big group from northern Illinois, made the trek in an astounding variety of BMW vehicles.  The Club and the Marque were well represented!

Start making plans for next year’s 8th Annual event, tentatively scheduled for the second week of August in 2018.  I’d like to thank everyone who attended this year for coming out, and also give a big round of applause for the Brew City Cruise Night volunteers who helped make the night a special one.

Tuesday, August 15th, was the sixth annual Badger Bimmers BMW & MINI Night at Brew City Cruise Night in Mequon, WI.  This year yet again had the biggest turnout so far, and has become a must-do gathering in the summer.
