On October 23rd, 2021, Badger Bimmers and the Beran family hosted their Fall Picnic near Whitewater, WI at their new home workshop filled with BMWs. The event was a pot luck with attendees bringing all sorts of great dishes to pass all afternoon. Over 70 cars were on display in the field with well over 100 people in attendance to see the Beran’s new shop and enjoy the fantastic, sunny fall weather. Models ranged from the classics to new and there were also many non-BMWs that attended in a separated display area.
In memory of Adam Bensaid, after his recent passing, his cars (his e30 and e32) were on display and many of his friends and family also attended to check out the club and get to know his car family.
The event gained the club some new members and the Beran family looks forward to hosting another event next year.
Our premier event at Road America, OktoberFAST was held on October 1st-October 3rd. The first two days had awesome weather but the 3rd surprised us with some rain. Nevertheless, our students were able to seize the opportunity to practice the rain line at America’s National Park of Speed. New this year, Feeding America was onsite at OktoberFAST collecting food and monetary donations for those in need. Thank you to all who contributed! A shoutout to all volunteers, instructors, and newly appointed DEC David Burman. Special thanks to retiring DEC Darcy Yench for her many years of tireless service to the Club. We hope to see all drivers return next year and help sell out all our events!
On Friday, August 20th, Badger Bimmers BMW CCA hosted their second high performance driver education (HPDE) event of 2021 at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. Just like our June BHF event, this one went off without a hitch.
Again we had over 50 cars and drivers show up for the event!
We would like to thank everyone for helping to make it a fun, safe, and informative event.
Badger Bimmers’ first event of 2021 was our annual E30 picnic. Nearly 100 club members and friends attended the social gathering held at Village Park in Pewaukee, WI. It was a sunny, hot day with temperatures over 90 degrees which is very unusual for early June in Wisconsin. Luckily, the park had lots of leafy trees and we also had the pavilion at our disposal. It was a bring-your-own food affair and there were several grills fired up and cooking our favorite burgers and bratwursts. Door prizes were awarded including a certificate for free registration for one of our Blackhawk Farms Raceway driver education events. A great time was had by all!
As part of our community support efforts, Badger Bimmers awards $1,000 scholarships each year at three Wisconsin Technical Colleges. The scholarships are granted to full-time students studying in an auto repair program at each school. Below are the recipients of the 2021 scholarships:
Cal sent us our first share of the social-distancing era so we can still see what our members are up to. Here’s what he has to say –
Here’s my latest acquisition. A one owner all factory original 2016 M4 GTS with 1,300 miles that I acquired in January. Never thought I’d have the opportunity to own such a limited edition high end performance BMW with only 803 made. Prior owner was a car collector in the Carolinas. Looking forward to track day events at Road America and Black Hawk Farms. I parted ways with my 2003 M3 with Dinan upgrades two years ago and missed the balanced feel it had at Road America. Looking forward to the feel this M4 provides.
Thanks Cal and hopefully we’ll see you soon!
Beginning in fall 2019 Badger Bimmers has funded a 5-year, $1000 per year annual scholarship for the automotive service program at Milwaukee Area Technical College. The scholarship is granted to an exceptional full-time student in one of MATC’s Associate Degree granting programs.
Our first winner is Shayla Gundersen! Congratulations and best of luck to you in your studies.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Door County Rally on September 21 and a big thank you to all of our sponsors for the event:

Tuesday, August 13th, was the seventh annual Badger Bimmers BMW & MINI Night at Brew City Cruise Night in Mequon, WI. Turnout was down a tiny bit from last year due to rain, but there were still over 70 BMWs and their owners in attendance.
Brew City Cruise Night is a weekly gathering of car enthusiasts from around southeast Wisconsin. They host 22 Tuesday night car shows (from May through September) at nines American Bistro in Mequon, with each week being dedicated to a feature marque, club, or theme.
Club members from all over southeast and central Wisconsin made the trek in an astounding variety of BMW vehicles. CS, ’02, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, M, and X along with MINIs old and new were all well-represented.
The night was topped off by a big door-prize giveaway.
Start making plans for next year’s 8th Annual event, tentatively scheduled for the second week of August in 2020. I’d like to thank everyone who attended this year for coming out, and also give a big round of applause for the Brew City Cruise Night volunteers who helped make the night a special one.
